Why Should You Take a Trip to Maui?
For starters, Maui is the most beautiful place on earth. The tropical flowers, beautiful beaches, and sparkling blue water are only a few of the reasons for visiting. Maui creates a spectacular experience for your photographic memory. The people are nice, the resorts are luxurious, and the terrain is unlike anywhere else in America. Where else can you go that you can experience snow, rain, and sunny beach weather?
Beaches
People think of beautiful beaches when they think of Hawaii, but most forget about the intricate details that Maui offers that your local beach does not. Of course Maui has beautiful golden sand beaches and beautiful crystal clear water, we all know that. Before arriving, no one had explained to me the vast differences in many of the beaches that Maui has to offer. How about the Red sand beaches on the way to Mt. Haleakala? Did you know that there are Black sand beaches and White sand beaches too?? Explorers, you definitely have to go check all these places out before you hang up your Indiana Jones hat.
Activities
Each Hawaiian island has many of the same activities such as snorkeling, diving, helicopter tours, horseback riding, zip lining, boating, luaus, and golfing. However, Maui ia one of the only islands to have "blowholes" that you can hike to, or a volcano (Mt, Haleakala) that you can ride your bike down during sunrise! You will be only a few miles from the Molokini Crater, which is one of the best places to snorkel or dive in the world. It is one of the only underwater volcano craters near civilization and provides pristine waters and wildlife for your viewing pleasure. Amazing colorful fish is not the only thing to look out for. You may even see some sea turtles. Take a trip down the Road to Hana which is a 68 mile highway connecting Kahului and Hana containing 59 bridges and over 600 turns! On our journey we found black sand beaches, red sand beaches, and hidden waterfalls and ponds for swimming. Don't forget to take your Dramamine!
Weddings
What better place to get married that in paradise?? Beautiful flowers, perfect sunny weather, and spectacular views will be your backdrop. On our visit, we got married and had the most glorious trip of our life. The people were so nice and the planner was incredible. Personally, we heard so many stories of people coming to get married or just to visit and continued to stay and make it their home. Who would blame them? Have a romantic ceremony on the beach at sunset. Get married on the most beautiful golf course you will ever see in your life. Say your vows at a quaint church and take pictures with the lush landscaping. Have a large ceremony with all your family and friends by your side. Maybe take only your parents and siblings and enjoy your trip without the stress of a big party. Its your day so do it right. Do it in Maui!
Food
The food is unlike any other place in America. Seafood is amazing in Maui. It is so fresh and tropical, and it tastes amazing! Hula Grill in the Whaler's Village has the best fish around. Try the Ahi Steak, Mahi Mahi, or the Macadamia Nut Crusted Island Fish, for a fresh taste of Maui's best catch. The Seawatch (now changed to Gannon's) had the best crab cakes I have ever tasted in my life. Watch out Maryland! Cool Cat Cafe is a 50s cafe which sits across from one of the largest Banyan trees in the United States. Cool Cat contains menu items which are named after 50s singers or actors, and is especially known for its burgers. They have other items such as fish, chicken, salads and so forth but the burgers are out of this world! The breakfast buffet at the Westin Villas is absolutely amazing. Fresh squeezed guava juice, fresh cut pineapple, and the thickest pieces of bacon you can find are just a few of the items on this delectable menu. Many of the chains on the mainland such as Pizza Hut, Outback, and The Melting Pot can also be found on Maui. However, you are going to want to stick to the local stuff. You won't be disappointed.
Have you ever been on a tropical vacation??

Your pictures are so absolutely beautiful that I want to jump through my computer screen and sit on the beach! We haven't been to Maui, but we have been to Kauai and loved every single second of it. The Hawaiian Isles are so beautiful - I want to go back!
After reading your hub, the gorgeous photos gave the final "push" and convinced me that I have to go to Maui! Voted up!
thoughtdump, we feel the same way about Kauai - we love it so much that we haven't felt a need to explore the other islands. Maybe one of these days I'll be insanely wealthy with the ability to visit each of the islands! :)
You are so right about the different kinds of beaches in Hawaii! On my island we even have a green sand beach. You did a great job of showcasing the best of Maui - voted up!
